Aishti Foundation
Founded by Tony Salame in 2015, The Aishti Foundation aspires to define an institution dedicated to contemporary culture, ranging from art to design, from architecture to performance.
It undertakes the challenge to comprehend the span of exchange of all possible cultures from East to West. The intention is to collect, exhibit, preserve, and conduct visual research in areas on international art with attention to visual research in the Middle East, concentrating largely on living artists. The collection consists of approximately 2000 works of more than 300 artists, including painting, sculpture, drawing, video, and works of new media.
Beirut Art Center
The Beirut Art Center is a non-profit association, space and platform dedicated to experimental art.
Its aim is to produce, present and contextualize local and international art researches and cultural practices. It aims to allow the engagement with various art forms and experiences and alternative ways of knowledge production and “redistribution”. It aims to support local and regional contemporary artists and facilitate the creation and realization of projects as well as the interaction among local and international cultural players.
Dalloul Art Foundation
This cultural initiative, lauched by Basel Dalloul, aims to expose Modern and Contemporary Arab Art for the local and international audience.
Artwork lines the walls of four apartment floors of 450 sq. metres each, which were converted into art galleries. There are sections for the different genres: Egyptian art, Iraqi art, Palestinian, Sudanese, Algerian, Lebanese and so forth. The Ramzi and Saeda Dalloul Art Foundation has announced plans to build a 10,000 to 15,000 square-meter institution to house its 4,000 pieces. It is one of the world’s largest holdings of Modern and Contemporary Art from the Middle East.
Dar el Nimer
for Arts & Culture
Founded by Rami El Nimer, the Dar el Nimer for Arts and Culture is an independent non-profit art foundation for historical, modern and contemporary cultural productions from Palestine and the region.
It promotes deep historical awareness and keen intellectual maturity by hosting productions by curators, writers, historians, performers, musicians and filmmakers, whose works engage with the challenging social realities and political currents shaping the region. Celebrating the region’s rich and complex cultural heritage to trace its continuity, creativity, and perseverance. Dar El-Nimer envisages self-representation through arts and culture, opening up possibilities for deeper understanding.
Mina Image Centre
The Mina Image Centre is a non-profit organisation geared towards bringing to a Middle Eastern public the best of photography and artworks from the region and around the world.
It is a dedicated space for the image and a platform for debates and reflections as well as for exhibition and production. With a yearly schedule of four major exhibitions and a dynamic program of parallel events, mina aims to promote the image in all its multiplicity and complexity while seeking to engage artists across disciplines and a wide diverse public.
Sursock Museum
The Sursock Museum is a modern and contemporary art institution in the center of Beirut which first opened in 1961, with a mission to collect, preserve, and exhibit local and international art.
Through its collection, archives, exhibitions, and public programs, it aims to produce knowledge on art practices in the region and explore work that reflects on our contemporary moment. Its goal is to support local art production, to provide a platform for encounter and experimentation with art and ideas, and to inform and challenge different audiences in new and unexpected ways.
