REVEALING by SGBL

For the fourth year running, SGBL supports emerging artists from across the MENA region with the REVEALING section. SGBL has invited the curator Rachel Dedman to choose 10 artists selected via an open call. 

A TRIBUTE TO LEBANON:
AN ORIENTALIST VOYAGE

This exhibition explores Western artists inspired by Lebanon since the 18th Century, through a selection of artworks and artefacts coming from Philippe Jabre collection, including pieces by Warhol, Hockney or Penck, among many other artists. Curated by Gaby Daher. Scenography by Jean-Louis Mainguy.

VIDEO ART PROGRAM

The video art program «The Sensitive Sea» is born out of a visual dialogue of the Lebanese and Western scenes around a common theme, the Sea, a bridge linking two cultures across the Mediterranean. Curated by Madeleine Filippi & Sophie Lanoë.

KIDS WORKSHOPS

BeMA (Beirut Museum of Art) will be offering children visiting BEIRUT ART FAIR several artist-led workshops. Each artist will lead children to discover their creative process and learn a new artistic technique.

Our program of roundtables and talks aims at promoting and highlighting the understanding of various regional art scenes in constant evolution.

BEIRUT ART WEEK

Taking place September 17/24, BEIRUT ART WEEK transforms the city into an electrifying showcase for local and international contemporary art, unfolding in conjunction with BEIRUT ART FAIR, to bring the public together around an extensive program of public art, special exhibitions and original events.
