“Art like love is the magic concept that unites people (individuals and groups). Simultaneously, it can cause breakups and pain.
Acceptance of the “other” enters our lives to form the healing process that is part of why art is created. BEIRUT ART FAIR is the vehicle that carries us towards understanding, sympathizing and accepting the other. It is part of the healing process among those who have suffered and are willing to learn to forgive through beauty and love.”

The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts was established in 1980 by The Royal Society of Fine Arts, it is a private and non-profit organization founded in Amman in 1979. Its goal is to promote cultural diversity, disseminate artistic knowledge and promote contemporary art from Jordan and the Arab and developing worlds. The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts is the region’s leading museum with its unique permanent collection that comprises over 2800 works by contemporary artists from Jordan, the Arab and the developing world. It is considered an important reference with its diverse collection of drawings, paintings, print making, sculptors, ceramics, photography, installations and video art. The permanent collection covers various continents from Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America and Australia. Since its establishment, the National Gallery has organized many local and international exhibitions in cooperation with international museums and has participated in art exhibitions in the Arab world, Europe, Asia, the USA, Australia, Canada and Africa. The Touring Museum project, launched in 2009 consists of a van that has been transformed into a mobile art gallery. It aims to increase cultural awareness in the fields of plastic and visual arts by conducting weekly visits to different cities and villages in Jordan, targeting schools, youth and cultural and social development centers. Each visit includes a presentation of works from the Permanent Collection in addition to workshops in drawing and painting. The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts launched the “Factory” platform in 2018, which is one of our aspiring projects. It is designed to give opportunities to youth to develop didactic strategies with the social network through fully promoting collaborative or participatory processes and projects in various fields of visual arts, music, theatre, literature, contemporary dance and performing arts, through international open calls to emerging art projects, art residencies, curatorial projects, summer workshops and public art projects. The Jordan National Gallery also launched the “Hiwar Art Club”, it organizes lectures, seminars and meetings with artists and film screenings. The museum also organizes art workshops, musical events, and poetry readings in cooperation with various writers, artists and cultural institutions.
